Although work has slowed (windows and doors!!!), progress is still being made - with the bathroom, deck finished (lovely seat feature visible in at leat one picture and ongoing floor sanding.




We hope to be in first week of June - so I expect that will be June 7th!

The port town of Ocho Rios, Jamaica will disappear from itineraries at Princess Cruises in 2009, nudged out by the increasing popular port of Roatan, Honduras.

Still waiting...

We still await the arrival of doors and windows, which is now holding up completion. However, floors are sanded and walls painted and I shall be water sealing the exterior as soon as someone volunteers to hold the bottom of the ladder!

Finishing up

It feels like we are very close now and hopefully one more week will see the project completed. Having started on 21 April this has been really great progess. I painted the interior in primer yesterday. We await sanding of the floor, finishing of electrics and plumbing - and the installation of windows and doors - which are promised for next week...

Thursday 15th

No photos today I am afraid as the camera is on the blink. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch! The deck rails are now up - looks great I assure you - and the plasterboard is now finished inside. Sink and bathroom in early next week I hope - and still waiting on those windows.

Sheet rock is going up and joint compund going on. Looks really good inside - fixtures and fitting are being chosen today in Coxen Hole!

Electrics, pipes, floors


Electrics, pipes and flooring started yesterday and plasterboard/sheetrock will start today. The windows and doors look like they will be the snag to finishing ahead of schedule

Start of week three




So the third week of construction starts today... Roofing and sheeting to be finished off and decking, pipework and electricals to start very shortly.

A few power-outs in the last few days at inconvenient times but still nothing like before!
