Roofing

Roofing started today and will be finished off tomorrow with tar paper, insulation and shingles. The second picture is taken from the upper breezeway of the West Lodge.

Sides on

Rafters are now up on both sides so you get a good impression of the height of the two sections now. We are now making good progress on tar papering and sheeting the sides of the building. Plumbing and electrical work to start in a couple of days.

Frame work

In a busy five days, the frame of the building is now almost complete. You can already get a really good idea of what the space will be like inside - and what it will look like in terms of size from the outside. I have taken a few pictures from different angles (from the existing road, from the eastern property line and from the back of the West lodge) to give you an idea of how it fits into the landscape. Click on the pictures to enlarge. It is really well screened by trees so I think will be quite low impact visually. A crew of four very hard workers here six days a week and expected completion is a total of five weeks - so another month...

First post in...

Work on manager's residence started on Monday and here are a couple of pictures to show. We are using the base of a previous water cistern as a footprint. Foundations and floor joists are already in place and first stud wall raised about 20 minutes ago! More pictures soon.

Fingers crossed, touch wood etc but RECO energy problems have diminished greatly in the last two weeks with only occasional 2-3 hour outages. All hoping things continue in the same direction.

Delay...

Building now commences Monday 21st. Leston had an accident at another site on Tuesday but will be fighting fit to start on Monday.

Wood bought and stacked

The timber for the resident's manager office and accomodation has now been delivered. It will take two weeks to dry before building commences. Follow building progress here...

More energy

You will start to think that RECO is becoming an obsession...latest is that now Warren is fully in charge (after the bank held his $3m cheque for three weeks), and in ten days time new generators will be installed and power problems will be over...we will see.
