David questions...

Hi David

I met your sister the other day! Sounds like she was having a good time and liked the look of the property.

Nott sure what you mean by ' What is the shoreline measurement of the Seagrape Ecolodge property?' - do you mean from building from the sea or side to side (the width of the property at shoreline)?

Glad you found the Delta flight too!

Hope to have more septic news for you this week.

Stormy weather

These pictures are just to show you that it's not all crystal calm waters and sandy beaches all the time. But I guess you knew that already - especially Jude and Paul!

Also a pic of the Roatan Triathlon which took place at the weekend. Get in training for next year!?

Permission has now been granted so work has started up again today - a week later than expected due to 'the last piece of paper'. More pix later in the week.

All clear

Hello all
The good news from yesterday was that we passed our environmental inspection! So building can now go full steam ahead...foundations start monday!

Date set

The environmental inspection date has been set for the forthcoming Friday. After much wrangling and hassling - well done, Sal! So from there on we expect plain sailing - haha.
Also to inform you that your island representative, me, became the very first member of the Sandy Bay/West End Marine Park support group! It's a great group that now have an office in West End and dedicated to protecting the reef and what lives on it...they have two or three small boats that patrol daily stopping people spearfishing and stepping or dropping anchors on the coral.

Flat walls

Oh - also Delta had its inaugural flight from Atlanta at the weekend...seems quiet tourist wise this week but Mariella says it picks up again next week! Here are some pictures of the wood drying on the land and also the wall frames which have been pre-fabbed while we wait for permissions.

Celebs ahoy!

Hello all. Just to let you that Roatan is now an official VIP hot spot! Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones were here last week, staying at Palmetto, and being shown round by a real estate agent. And rumour has it that Richard Gere is coming here next week...

First visitors...

As you can see from the pix here we have had our first visitors on site, Tone and Zilla. They send all the best to those they have met and look forward to those they haven't yet.

Also the first construction is going up - no not one of the buildings but a temporary storage hut!

Building Lines

Activities on site continue to progress. There is now steel for the foundations being cut and electricity too! The timber is schduled to arrive on Friday.

Attached is a picture showing the forward building line of any of the three buildings, well back from Bungalow 7 (now called Land's End Resort) and a line we all feel safe with. It's further forward than we were planning at one stage but will allow us to maximise space at the back.
